Kids are introduced to the concept of coding through Ipad based fun and educational kits, online and unplugged activities. The program will also introduce kids to age-appropriate robotics.

Utilizing advanced robotic tools developed in Silicon Valley, including Dash & Dot and Sphero, students will understand basic concepts in mathematics and programming.

Through the intuitive interface of their iPads, they are introduced to block programming to control the robots, as well as create small animations and games on their screen.

What to bring: Fully charged Ipad or Andriod, water bottle and enthusiasm!

[ultimate_heading main_heading=”Ozcode Explorer (age 9-11)” main_heading_color=”#0c0000″ spacer=”line_with_icon” spacer_position=”bottom” line_height=”1″ line_color=”#e65c23″ icon=”Defaults-star-o” icon_size=”20″ icon_color=”#68c7b3″ main_heading_margin=”margin-bottom:8px;” line_width=”120″ spacer_margin=”margin-bottom:8px;” main_heading_font_size=”desktop:22px;”]$300 (9 weeks , 1.5 hour per week)[/ultimate_heading][ultimate_spacer height=”30″ height_on_tabs=”25″ height_on_tabs_portrait=”25″ height_on_mob_landscape=”25″ height_on_mob=”25″]

With an emphasis on creativity, conceptual thinking and problem solving, kids will start with Scratch and other block-based coding programs to learn the fundamentals of computational thinking.

Students will then progress to tools such as Construct 3, App Inventor, Roblox, CoSpaces to build and animate awesome simple games and mobile apps applying the concepts of block coding.

The program will also include age-appropriate robotics using the BBC Micro: bit which is a pocket-sized, fully programmable, single board computer.

What to bring: Fully charged Mac, Chromebook or Laptop (Windows 7 or higher), water bottle and enthusiasm!
